I am a painter who seeks to please the eye and am fascinated by light through darkness. My hunt for this has led me to paint on many surfaces: walls, wooden panels, furniture and fabric. I describe myself as a mood-affected colourist. The darker the mood, the darker the colours. I go through phases of near obsession with a theme or a subject and evolve it over many years.

Visitors to my studio/home have told me that it is a happy place, yet there is an underlying melancholy that I rise above. That is my constant quest.
